Notes from PUG meeting 2020-01-30 (correction for Subject)
Location: Microsoft Store, Freehold Raceway Mall
Participants: Jerome, Lori Scotto (Microsoft Store Education Expert), John K, Parresh P, Lou G.

    Discussion:
Review of creating bar, column, pie, donut, line, and Map visuals.

Using drill down, Continuous vs Categorical type, setting "display units" to "None" so that you see "350" instead of "0.35K"

Printing Power BI report from PBI Desktop or PBI Service via exporting to PDF.

    Practice with Key Influencers Visual

and using the Updated Ribbon Experience for Power BI Desktop

    https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/updated-ribbon-experience-for-power-bi-desktop/

    Some Lessons Learned:

Map visual – someone was not able to view the Map visual in PBI Desktop, but was able to view the visual in PBI Service.

Solution: Map visual displayed in PBI Desktop after changing anti-virus settings.

Asterisk – another person had  data with the asterisk "*", which was causing an error in PBI Desktop.

Solution: Replace the asterisk in the data by using Find-Replace with a tilde "~" preceding the asterisk in 'Find'.

Sometimes it is difficult to see the mouse pointer on a screen projection when navigating across PBI Desktop or Service.

Solution: Changing the size and color of the mouse pointer in Windows 10 Settings to lime green makes a big difference!
