Got some help with using PBI to do a random sort of list of names in a dataset.
I need this to pick out a sample for a monthly review of documentation.
And for a different sample to use for a survey.

I used this helpful reference from the PBI community forum:
    https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Display-Random-Subset-of-Data/td-p/217760

For example, create a table visual that includes the the column of names or identifiers for which you want a random sort.
In the visual filter look for the name or id column, switch the filter to Top N and drag the Random measure into By Value.

Set the Top N to the number of rows you want in the random sort.
For my situation I need a random sort that includes 10 records, and others that include 30 or 60 or 90 out of the hundreds of items in the data set.

If you try it, let us know how you like it.
