Anyone have older versions of "Power BI Publisher" installer file for excel?

  • 1.  Anyone have older versions of "Power BI Publisher" installer file for excel?

I recently updated my Power BI Publisher for excel and after the update -- none of my excel files allow me to access online Power BI models.

Unfortunately I did not keep a prior version of the Power BI installation file -- so I have no way of rolling back to previous version since Microsoft only keeps the latest version online.

I was wondering if anyone has the installer file for the 64 bit version of Power BI Publisher add in for excel from a time prior to the November 2017 update?

I believe I need the following version:  2.37.3272.28541

I am seeing this issue described in Power BI community forums:  https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Power-BI-Publisher-for-Excel-not-working/idi-p/304828

    Many thanks!

    Pete

    Hey Peter,

I was having this same issue in November. I had to uninstall Office 2016 from my computer and reinstall the Office 365 version, which can be found on your Office 365 site. If you have 64 bit you will have to go to 'Other Downloads' then 'Advanced Settings' to choose the 64 bit version.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Ryan.  I am actually using Office 365 64 bit.  And I did delete and re-install.  I even created a new VM from scratch and was still having the same issue.  I'm stumped and Microsoft support is giving me the run around.

I talk to the Power BI support team and they tell me that it is excel issue.  And now I can't get the excel support team to get back to me!  Very frustrating.

I am pretty sure that the old version of the Power BI publisher will solve the problem but there is no way to get it as far as I can tell.
