    Has anyone here automated the data collection and output of the numerous entries required by the Call Report? We have most if not all the values needed being supplied by other reports currently, and our finance team downloads these reports and transcribes the value they need into the call report excel template provided by the NCUA and then exports the XML file.

     

    We are trying to save them from all the manual intervention and prepopulate as much of the report as possible, and then programmatically generate the XML file for them to upload. I'm looking to see others have tackled this and what steps they took to provide the supporting documentation for the auditors when they asks where the value for page 3 question 2 came from.

     

    Currently the finance team maintains a binder of the reports so they can flip it open to the section that has the reports used for Page 3 on it and say it came from this report here. So I'm trying to think of how best to create a "digital" binder of source material that will satisfy auditors demands.
