Jira Content Pack

    Hi,

I've been trying to access the Jira Content Pack for PowerBI Desktop and Workspace and have not been able to.

It seems there is a PBIT file that I need to download but every thread that I go to w/a link has an expired OneDrive link to the download.

Can someone please provide the link or download and instructions on how to pull Jira into Power BI?

The last article written about it was in 2016 and is super outdated.

    Thanks!

    Hi, @Lynda ha,

I have this template (PBIT). You can find it in downloads of our Kharkiv PUG. Direct link to the file (unzip it to see actual file) - Kharkiv Power BI User Group - Power BI User Grouphttps://www.pbiusergroup.com/viewdocument/connect-to-jira-pbit-from-microsof?CommunityKey=b35c8468-2fd8-4e1a-8429-322c39fe7110

    Hi Ruslan,

thank you for the file - that was a good help!

Do you have any guidelines how to resolve the Jira API 100 items limit? https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-67570?_ga=2.101507137.1902640455.1505929864-863697658.1500488616

I am only getting 114 results and nothing else. Any help or ideas are welcome how to get it working.

    Thanks

    Hi @Hindrik Usin,

    You are welcome.

In the article you've provided you can see a recommendation on how to handle MaxResults limit:

    ...
In principle, our recommended solution is to rely on pagination to retrieve the desired number of results in chunks for any API that supports startAt parameter
    ...

    Hi Ruslan

    many thanks for the info.

I actually found what was needed to be modified in this data query, it was a really simple change of the MaxResults from 500 to anything below 100 (I set it to 50)

i took maybe 2-3 minutes to get 11k issues data.

Many thanks and let this be a help for others who wishes to use this analytics, it is really helpful!

    Hi Ian,

No, it is still working and pulling data daily - i am quite happy with the dashboards now.
What authentication you are using? I use my Atlassian user and API key for password (https://id.atlassian.com/manage/api-tokens) to avoid troubles wit account passwords changes.

    Hi Hindrik Usin,

That was is it... 99% of the time I use API tokens, but for the Jira one I used by default web username/password !!! changed to API and its working..

The thing that through me of was no error message about authentication error was given, PowerBI is normally pretty good at telling you when you enter the wrong details :)

    Thank you again.

    Ian
