The second half of Power BI World Tour 2018 wrapped up in Dallas just last month. Hundreds of attendees showed up to the remaining four (4) cities - Seattle, Montreal, Dubai and Dallas to learn from local experts and connect with other Power BI users.

The agendas were filled with great content, speakers and plenty of opportunities for networking. Some #PBIWorldTour highlights from each location include:

    Seattle, Washington - 29 - 30 October

    • Having so many "heavy-hitters" presenting content, naturally drove PUG Leaders and MVPs to attend.
    • Highest attended sessions:
    • Dan Edwards even incorporated Sports examples into his session!
    • Could a #PowerBI user group be in the works for Tokyo? Quite possibly – thanks to networking in Seattle and a passion for data.

    Montreal, Canada - 14 - 15 November

    • Highest attended sessions:
      • Advanced Analytics Capabilities in Power BI by Ashraf Ghonaim
      • M and Microsoft Power Query: The Lightsaber for a Data Jedi by Reza Rad
    •  Attendee Jessica Jolly takes to Twitter -
      • "Have you played with #DataFlows in #PowerBI yet? It's in preview right now but this is potentially THE game changer for companies with lots of data sources. It uses the #PowerQuery interface and will eventually connect to 85+ data sources!"
    • Most sessions turned into standing room only – great content is here to stay!

    Dubai, UAE 11 – 13 November

    • Participants could register for a Hackathon, Dynamics 365 Day or Power BI Day ... or all three!
    • Content sessions were delivered by Microsoft leaders, local MVPs and local User Group Leaders.
    • This was the first ever Dubai Power BI & PowerApps User Group meeting - offering sessions for Power Platform users which included:
      • Power BI + PowerApps + Flow: Introducing Power platform - Miguel Llopis, Microsoft Principle Program Manager & Sivakumar Harinath, Microsoft Principle Program Manager

      • Shape & Model Your Data - Naveen Ajmera, Leader of Dubai Power BI & PowerApps User Group & Tarek Bani, Technology Solutions Professional - Business Intelligence, Microsoft Gulf

    Dallas, Texas – 28 - 29 November

    • Over 215 attendees arrived at the @Microsoft Dallas office ready to plunge into content, updates and features of Power BI.
    • Highest attended sessions:
      • Introducing: Advanced data prep with dataflows - for unified data and powerful insights by Adam Saxton
      • Beyond the GUI - Advanced Power Query Techniques by Greg Baldini
    • Attendee Meagan Longoria had some fun in @guyInACube's session when she stated:
      • "Adam Saxton is talking about some #DragonFireButter hot #PowerBI features at #PBIWorldTour. (Dragon Fire Butter >Wasabi Mustard Sauce)."
