I have an excel spreadsheet with addresses and when I try to build a heat map it is only displaying specific states for select all filter.
If i set the filter to MT(Montana) the heat map is displaying all the locations and if I remove MT it is only displaying all the states and not Montana.

I have attached screenshots for reference.

    Please advise.

It's hard to say what's going on without knowing if you have other tables that the slicer is connected to.

Also, once you load the queries, you may want to make sure you set the Data Category is set to State or Province in the Modeling tab.

There is only one table with location name, addres, city , state and zip code. I did the Modeling > Data Category into appropriate categories for these fields.

    Here's what I would try:
    • Trim the column with the states
    • Consider using the zip codes
    • Create a table with the unique states, create a relationship to the existing table, and then use that as a slicer

Thanks for the tip Andrew, it still shows missing records in the map.
