    Hi,
Im new to the group and a basic PBI user. I would like to create our 2021 budget in power bi and i have about 1 month to learn everything i can.  Has anyone here taken the courses offered here in the Black Belt series and would you recommend it?
    or other BI course?

    appreciate any advice.

Michelle, I can not speak to the Black Belt series other than I had reviewed sometime in the past and did not pursue.

I have been in the PowerBI space for sometime and have landed on 3 places to my self training.

    1. sqlbi.com has some of the best materials - I am  taking Mastering DAX and refer to their videos regularly
    2. Enterprisedna.co - I am a member and have taken multiple trainings
    3. https://www.skillwave.training/ - I have yet to take the course work, However, I will be when time permits I will be taking the PowerQuery Academy

My recommendation would be Enterprisedna.co - this has very practical training with good examples - Sam McKay has quite a few Financial and Budget related materials which you do not find often. (Mainly Retail oriented examples - (our Credit Union data is very different but many principles are the same).

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Michelle!

When I got started last June, I took the Bootcamp course through Pragmatic Works (https://www.pragmaticworkstraining.com)- highly recommend! They are doing periodic "Learn with the Nerds" sessions for free and often put a discount code for their trainings on there. They record the sessions and post on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X5LWcLtkzg
I'm also a member of the Portland Power BI user group which offers some great free training sessions. They're on Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/Portland-Power-BI-User-Group/
I've subscribed to Guy In A Cube on Youtube as well- all good resources!

I've taken it. It was helpful to some degree in highlighting areas that I hadn't had the need to work on in my actual day to day. I think it's a good course to walk you through the basics of power bi while also introducing more advanced concepts that you may or may not need but good to be aware of. The problem is that power bi updates/changes alot faster than the course work. So there's a chance of some glaring differences in the course work and the version of power bi you are working with.
