Part I of a six part course on data modeling

When:  Jan 27, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PT)
Associated with  East Bay Power BI User Group

Many of the complexities and problems that arise in working on Power BI reports can be best dealt with by fixing the data model. Fixing the data model is much preferrable to writing complicated DAX code.

At this meeting we will learn about the basics of Power BI data models and explore the first use case. Transforming data from Excel where all the information has been put in "one big table".

We will cover Fact Tables, Dimension Tables and the different kinds of Relationships you can create between them in Power BI.

Bring your laptops and your own data models. The last half of the meeting will be devoted to solving your real world problems with data models.
